Assumptions and How This Is Calculated
Planned use = people × daily use × days. Subtract stock, keeping at least zero. Whole packs and increments round upward; loose count purchases round to whole pieces. List and waste tasks use known quantities.
Compatible units and currency changes retain exact values. Displayed money rounds half-up to two decimals. Waste is within goods cost; delivery is added once in plan/budget tasks.
Limits: 1 to 100 people, 0 to 366 days, 50 items, 1,000,000 base units per quantity, daily use 100 per person, money equivalent to PKR 1 trillion. See the guide for formulas and limitations.

Atta Calculator Guide: Flour Quantity, Cost and Stock
This atta calculator helps households estimate flour purchases from their own measured use. It covers quantity, cost, stock duration, whole bags and waste value. Enter dry atta mass and your shop price rather than assuming a standard family allowance.
Atta means the flour you intend to buy or use. This planner tracks its mass, not the number of rotis it produces. The examples demonstrate arithmetic with fictional prices and consumption amounts. They do not prescribe portions or represent a complete food budget.
Which Atta Task Should You Choose?
Choose Plan Atta Quantity to calculate a shortage after accounting for usable flour stock. This task starts with people, daily use per person and planning days. Your buying rule determines the final purchase quantity.
Choose Cost An Atta Purchase when you already know the amount to buy. Choose Check Stock Duration when you need days of supply without entering a price. Count Whole Atta Bags rounds a known requirement into complete bags. Value A Waste Scenario prices a measured or hypothetical wasted share.
Each task displays only its relevant inputs and results. You can plan separate atta types using Add Another Atta Type. Divide measured consumption between those types instead of assigning the same household demand twice.
How Do You Enter Atta Quantities?
- Choose your task before entering quantities. Keep PKR or select a different currency for tasks involving money.
- Open the Atta item and select kg or g under Measurement Unit. Compatible changes convert quantities and unit prices together.
- For quantity planning, enter People and Planning Days. Enter Daily Use / Person as measured dry flour consumption, not cooked roti weight.
- Check Usable Stock, the buying rule and Quantity / Pack. Use the actual bag’s net flour mass.
- Choose the price basis and enter your shop price. Optional delivery and spending limits appear in Delivery, Spending Limit And Examples.
- Review the detailed result and assumptions. Copy the summary, download CSV, print the report or explicitly share its link.
Use a decimal point, such as 0.15. Commas can group thousands, as in 1,000.50. Ambiguous comma decimals are rejected instead of silently changing your flour quantity. Blank required fields prevent a current result.
How Does the Atta Calculator Work?
Planned Use and Purchase Shortage
Planned flour use equals people multiplied by daily use per person and days. Subtract usable stock to obtain the shortage, keeping a minimum of zero. Stock that already covers the plan does not produce a negative purchase.
Whole-bag count equals shortage divided by bag size, rounded upward. Purchase quantity equals that count multiplied by bag size. Loose buying retains the exact shortage. Buying increments round upward to the seller’s stated increment.
Cost and Waste Value
With unit pricing, item cost equals purchase quantity multiplied by price per kilogram or gram. With whole-bag pricing, complete bags cost bag count multiplied by bag price. Loose cost uses quantity multiplied by bag price divided by bag size.
Add delivery once to obtain the purchase total. Waste value equals purchased flour cost multiplied by the scenario percentage divided by one hundred. It is within goods cost, rather than an added charge or guaranteed saving.
Flour and delivery total PKR Rs 2,250.00. Chart amounts describe the fixed example, not your edited purchase.
Monthly Atta Example for Four People
The fictional monthly example buys 15 kg and costs PKR Rs 2,250.00 with delivery. It uses four people, thirty days and 0.15 kg daily use per person. These are illustrative measurements, not recommendations for every family.
Four multiplied by 0.15 and thirty gives 18 kg planned use. Existing stock of 3 kg reduces the shortage to 15 kg. Three 5 kg bags cover that shortage exactly.
| Measure | Example Value |
|---|---|
| Planned Use | 18 kg |
| Usable Stock | 3 kg |
| Purchase | 3 × 5 kg = 15 kg |
| Unit Price | PKR Rs 140.00/kg |
| Flour Cost | PKR Rs 2,100.00 |
| Delivery | PKR Rs 150.00 |
| Total | PKR Rs 2,250.00 |
The five-percent waste scenario values the wasted share at PKR Rs 105.00. Delivery is excluded from this waste valuation. Changing that percentage does not increase how much atta you buy.
Planned use is 18 kg, usable stock is 3 kg and the purchase shortage is 15 kg. Existing stock reduces the amount to buy before the bag-rounding rule applies.
How Do You Read the Results?
Items Subtotal means the flour cost before delivery. The spending-limit comparison subtracts the total from your optional budget. A negative remaining balance means this purchase exceeds that amount.
Bag surplus is the purchase above the shortage. Projected closing stock includes existing flour plus purchases, less planned use. Extra flour already in the cupboard can produce closing stock without creating bag surplus.
Current stock cover refers to flour available before shopping. After-shopping cover includes the purchase before consumption. Neither output is a food-safety assessment or a promise about freshness.
Weekly Atta Shopping Example
The weekly example costs PKR Rs 280.00 for two 1 kg bags without delivery. Two people using 0.15 kg each daily need 2.1 kg over seven days. Existing stock of 1 kg leaves a 1.1 kg shortage.
Whole-bag buying rounds that shortage to 2 kg. The purchase exceeds the shortage by 0.9 kg, which remains after the plan. This example changes stocks and bag sizes, so it is not a simple monthly-total division.
How Long Will Atta Stock Last?
Stock duration divides usable atta by measured daily household use. Four people at 0.15 kg each consume 0.6 kg daily. Their 10 kg stock lasts approximately 16.667 days at that unchanged rate.
Set People to one when entering a measured total household daily amount as Daily Use / Person. Do not enter the household total and multiply it by every person again. With zero daily use, the tool reports no calculable restock date instead of dividing by zero.
Whole Bags Compared with Loose Atta
A larger bag can raise the checkout total even when the unit price stays unchanged. In the monthly example, a 20 kg bag covers the 15 kg shortage. It creates 5 kg surplus and costs PKR Rs 2,800.00 before delivery.
Choose Exact Loose Quantity when the seller allows the exact mass. Choose Buying Increments when the seller uses fixed steps. The calculator does not compare competing shop prices automatically or assume that larger bags are cheaper.
Prices, Grams and Currency Conversion
One kilogram equals one thousand grams. Changing kg to g converts flour amounts and unit prices together. A quoted whole-bag price stays attached to its bag, rather than becoming a gram price.
PKR is the default, followed by INR, USD, GBP, EUR, SAR and AUD. Monetary conversions use the snapshot dated 4 November 2026. They preserve the example’s reference value, not local flour purchasing power. Enter your own actual price after choosing the appropriate currency when pricing a local purchase.
Copied and printed reports preserve precise unit prices. CSV includes the buying rule, price basis, bag size, price currency and waste percentage. A recurring or exceptionally small price uses a labeled exact fraction rather than a misleading zero.
Assumptions and Limits
The planner assumes constant use during the period you enter. It cannot predict visitors, changed recipes, missing deliveries or changes in your shop’s prices. Count only flour you judge usable, without treating this calculator as a storage-safety guide.
Exact rational arithmetic controls calculations and whole-bag ceilings. Monetary totals round half-up to two decimals after calculation. Rounded line costs can differ slightly from a displayed total because the total uses unrounded values.
Quantities display up to nine decimal places and stock cover displays three. Supported measurements are kilograms and grams of dry flour. The planner does not convert flour into cups, dough mass, wheat milling yield or roti counts.
Atta Calculator FAQs
Can I Use My Last Month’s Atta Record?
Yes. Divide that month’s measured flour use by its days and people for a daily per-person amount. Enter the intended days for the new plan. Recheck the estimate when household habits change.
